I like the style. And although the calendar is totally useless, it looks good to be there.

I took some time to check out the new page, so here are my thoughts about it:

I really like this new style, the use of colours (of magic?) and the way it is built up...

The idea with the ChatBox is amazing, I was really surprised when I first saw it... great that I just could talk to you guys :-)

I also like the idea of having an own gallery in the User CP... up to a minute ago I also thought I'd like to have a separate gallery for live pics, misc pics etc but now I think it might not be needed anymore... it seems to me that one can have several albums and that would serve the need I guess...

At the bottom line I noticed a little box where you can switch between several views, the standard one being "-- Greenfox #". I like that one the most, the posts look better with the user info on the left side of the post (instead of being above)!

BUT I noticed something that I like better in the other views: In the top line "Area52 Forums" on the right side appears a box telling you "Welcome, you last visited: xx.xx.xxxx, Private Messages: unread 0, total 0"... just like here in this forum... I really like that because I can easily see if I got a new PM... otherwise I always would need to check my profile to see if there's something new, right?

I've got two more questions:
Will there be a separate introduction forum again? (preferred answer: yes ;-)
Will there be a direct link to the bloodbound forum like on the old page?

So, just one more thought for the moment:
The left and right side are completely black... what about some kind of background? I just checked http://www.myspace.com/pyramaze and I like the way it is done there... one picture in the background and the " main part" in the middle is not affected by it... just a thought... of course, it would have to be a picture that matches with the colours used in the forum.

Conclusion: I like it... ALOT!

well that was one of the reason why we added it. so ppl can talk to Urban and rest of the gang or other forum members live instead of sending PM's all the time.

those will not be there when the site goes live. those were there for me and urban to look on various things so those you can ignore. the one that are the look that are "main" is Greenbox #

well yes we know of this problem and we are working on that. there are alot of solutions to that problem.
but when the site goes live the "Home" link will take you to the front page where you usally login.
another solution is to take back the login on the "navbar" and remove it from the portal, but then we loose out on some funtions on the "userInfo"
another solution is to have both there, but that i dont like since that means we will have dual info...that I dont like....too much of the good so to speak

All the threads and forum sections will still be there. so Yes, introduction section will be there and Bloodbound will still have their section.

thats wasnt a bad idea, I will take that up with Urban and we see what we can make out of it.

What's the purpose of a sticky thread - like the Official Bugreport Thread?

I've seen that in another forum once, but I don't know its purpose... maybe to have those sticky threads always on top of all the other threads?

We aren't starting over again we are simply porting this forum to the new one.

About the empty sides. They aren't going to be all empty as I shall have to move in banners from my sponsors and the rest of the space will also be put to good use.
This doesn't rule out using a big image as a backdrop but at the moment I shall just leave it.
If I do implement it it will be as an additional style (that you pick from the drop down menu) with that as the only or chief difference.
It's not hard to do technically but I would also have to produce the artwork for it.. :)

I only had troubles to get online again... If I recall correctly, I once have seen a start-page with some data on the left (who's online,...), some on the right (including the calender and a log-in-box) and the threads in between. Does this page not exist anymore or did I just somehow manage to miss it? :unsure:

I have http://forum.urbanbreed.com/ saved under my favorites, so I immediately came to the forum without seeing the start-page... on that page it's quite easy to see how and where to login! :)
