Hello guys!
Well... let´s tell something about me.
I´m Radka from Czech republic, 20 years old and I´m the one who almost three years bother everyone else around and want them to listen to Bloodbound.
I´m one of the biggest fans of Sabaton, so this tour was amaizing for me:happy: .
Anyway - I study (not so hard, but I pretend it:grin: ) and I love live shows, great music, books (Terry Pratchett, Ray Bradbury, Stephen King) and beer - of course - I´m from Czech!
for Urban: Guys from the band told me, that I know your lyrics better than you:grin:
Looking forward next time, I´ll buy you another orange juice

Hello and welcome!
for Urban: Guys from the band told me, that I know your lyrics better than you:grin:
This should come as no surprise to anyone that knows me. ;)
I simply can't be bothered to remember which line containing hell, devil, demon, satan etc. comes first.
Looking forward next time, I´ll buy you another orange juice
Thanks! I'm booking my trip right now... ;)

Hello Radka!
Welcome to the forum! And yes - cool choice of favourite authors - some of my favs, too.
Talking about Urban forgetting the lyrics, I really LOVED the "She's a golden retriever" version of Desdemonamelia :D

I'm catching up with it - I'm reading The truth right now. Actually I'm not sure if this is the original English title... forgot to check the cover...

Welcome here! :)
As I dug deeper into Urban's lyrics and found out that Servant Of The Bones is also a book from Anne Rice, I want to check out that one, seems really interesting...
Also Terry Pratchett seems quite interesting... any suggestions with which book I should start off my journey into his world?

If you are a bit patient and willing to give Terry some time to find his stride I suggest starting with "The Colour of Magic" followed by "The Light Fantastic" after those two he nails it! I would still recommend going through the first two but be patient with the occasional slip up...

Usually I am quite patient... especially when I got interested in something! So the books you named are the first two that he wrote... so I'll start with those, thanks! :)

Welcome! I was just telling a friend about Warrior Soul the other day--I assume you are a fan anyway. :)
And Pratchett rules, but Urban is right: the first two books start out slow. Btw, not to hijack the thread, but I got a tattoo of Greebo just last week. :)

A Greebo tattoo! Now that's awesome - I totally love him
@RedCriss,
Don't worry about the order - it works anyway if you ask me. I started my Terry Pratchet adventure with Mort - it's still one of my most favourite Discworld stories so far...

My first book by Terry was The colour of magic, I agree that´s the best start.
Thank you all for your welcome:grin: .

Mort! Yes!!!
"Mort, said Mort."
Clearly one of the best. Officially it's my favorite but there are so many others that are equally good. Terry's standard is so high it's almost impossible to determine which is his best.

Well, there were some I didn't like that much. I prefer the ones about the City Watch and Death, so no big surprise when you check my other favs - Guards! Guards!, Men at arms, Jingo, Night Watch, Hogfather, Weird Sisters...

Too late, guess it has been hijacked already!
You all really increase my interest in the discworld... can't wait to get my hands on one of the books... guess I'll start with The Colour Of Magic, even if it might start out slow.
I just read some quotes: good sense of humor, seems to be worth a journey! :)

What do we have here? A hijacked introduction thread?
A big "WELCOME" to Radka from me
I never warmed up to Terry Pratchett for some reason. Half my friends rave about him all the time, and the other half read him without raving about him. I pass. I only got as far as the big picture books, Eric and The Last Hero heh heh

... Yes, Warrior Soul by Doro is cool
... Terry rules, no doubt about that!
... and "Death" and "Colour of Magic" are the best books imho also
Did I miss any other topic-hijacking
