Hi and hello!

Here's a report from our scattered about studio sessions:

Tomas reports that we're starting the mixing sessions on Tuesday.
Good to know since I'm recording in Atlanta, Johan records in Gävle and the rest is being recorded elsewhere...
I recieved some bass tracks yesterday. Nice to have the actual bass when tracking. :)
Sent the guys a teaser. (This was also yesterday. Well, to those of you in Europe it was early today.)
It was a very short sample. In fact it was just the chorus for one song so they know very little more than you guys as of this moment.

Lets see if the rest of the guys have anything else to report.

I just finsihed the keyboard tracking here in my home studio.

I'll send the files to the guys down in Studio Mega today so they'll have my parts tomorrow in time for the mix. :)

Urban is recording in Atlanta, Johan in Gävle, me recording in Bollnäs and the rest of the guys in Varberg...It'll be an interesting record as I'll have no idea of how it'll sound in the end!

huh? Is this the usual bloodbound-way of recording a new album?

So no one actually knows what the album will sound like?

How does everyone record his own stuff if you don't know what the other guys are doing? Well, I guess the songs have already been written and you did some demos to know what the songs are all about...

Last question: who has the final say about what's going to be on the album or if a particular part is left off?

You really make me curious...

Hej,

at least it's some good news that we finally know that there's something going on.

So we can expect some new Bloodbound-stuff early 2009 I guess?

The new album will be out in March/April 09...

Cheers, Fredrik :D

This is the first time it's being done to this extent, so no. :)
However, I would like to point out that it is fairly common these days to have everybody record on their own.

Most of the harmonies and rhythmic patterns are already in place before we start. :) A skeleton if you will...

Not me... :)

Hm, I guess in the long run that's cheaper than booking a studio for a longer time for every album?! But I couldn't imagine record my bass tracks without the drummer being around... to make it groove more tightly. Though... maybe it'd be just a matter of getting used to it...

Whoever has the final say, I'm excited to hear some new stuff with your voice by April. :)

Of course me, the drummer, have the final say. I am god and my wish is the rest of the bands command...

It has been really interesting to record the album this way, not really knowing what everything would sound like in the end. Five songs are now mixed and ready (plus one instrumental songs for the japanese release) and I'm happy with the result. I think you'll find the next bloodbound album a little more aggressive and more modern sounding but without loosing that bloodbound feeling. I'm really looking forward to hear what you people have to say about it. Let me know in march/april ok? :)

A little more agressive sounds good to me.
Can't wait to hear it.

You're god? Then you have chosen the wrong avatar out of the ones available on this forum! 'Geek' to me is something slightly different!
