Personally I cannot stand listening to any song touching the subject of child abuse. No matter what point the author is pushing. No matter the stance. It always makes me sick to my stomach.

Well it depends on wich way the author is talking about this maltreatment. I got used to, that this world isnīt just brave and flowery. In lyrics I canīt stand embellished humiliation or any ideas of right-wing extremism. And even if suicide is not criminal, but I donīt like songs in wich they tell me, how great it is to die, however honourable the reasons might be.

I agree, certain subjects makes me hate those songs. like Child abuse. why sing about that makes other ppl suffer. they have to think about those persons that has been experience such things.

If it's something ridiculous, like worshipping the devil or something like that.

However, dark subjects have always drawn me. I think the reason people "like" to write about their own and hear about others' pain/suffering/what-have-you is the cathartic nature of it and the "you're not alone" message it sends. Pain is part of the human condition, so I find it perfectly natural that people write about it. Then again, maybe I'm just twisted. :b

Hey lady_space!
Excuse me, but that doesnīt make sense to me.
You were talking about that writing about otherīs pain, suffering and itīs carthatic nature for mankind.

And you still think worshipping higher spirits is ridiculous?

A lot of ppl appreciate the redemptive character of believing in gods, demons or even destiny. So they can blame them for their faults and failure.

I didn't say "higher spirits"... I'm talking about lyrics by bands like Deicide... some black metal stuff, etc. I personally find all the "hail Satan" stuff ridiculous. Sorry if I offended you by saying so, but that's my take on it.
