Next stop; Finspång!

Bloodbound will play, somewhere, (yes, maybe I should pay just a bit more attention), in Finspång on Saturday, (November 17:th).
Any of you going?

This time, unfortunatelly no.

But it's great to keep posting the dates here (or at the bloodbbound-page), maybe it will fit into my travel plans again, like last weekend.

So, please arrange a show in Stockholm somewhere inbetween 29.02.-04.03.2008 :D :D :D
hehehe.....

Tomas told me about Helter Skelter Festival in Germany next year.
I will definatelly be there then.

Tomas is dressed and ready to go. Pelle and I are sitting here, not wanting to eat another bite. We haven't changed yet and it'll take some time before we do. :-)
Johan is relaxing, about as ready as Tomas. Henrik is playing a little light warm-up thingy and Fredrik is socializing with someone that used to live on the same street in Bollnäs, way back, I think.
And now I'm doing the phone-geek thing posting here. :-)
If you live kind of close by there's still time to get over here. Maybe not room, but time. :-)

Hello guys

Well, it's not Poland itself, but at least Eastern Europe.

Bloodbound will play at the MASTERS of ROCK Festival in Zlín, Czech
The festival will take place from 12.-15.07.2007.

More info here: Masters of Rock (http://www.mastersofrock.cz/www/)

Cool :-)

I must also say, the line-up for 2008 so far is great.
Was planning to be there also at MoR, but next year I will have some friends from Scotland at my place and we're all going to the Manowar-Festival over here.
It's the same weekend.

Any shows in Poland or Chile?
I've heard no news of any such thing but, personally, I'm all for it!

Actually, I'm almost always for playing almost anywhere.
In fact, it would be pretty cool to play an arctic show... :D

All jokes aside, it would be fun, (yes, even that arctic show :)), to play a few shows in European countries I haven't played already.
...and South America? I haven't even been there...

Hi to All !

As my friend Bool wrote - we hope that at last we will be on MASTERS of ROCK(at last - cause we try go there for 2 last years ). That will be great!

I hope my wife and daughter let me go ... (unfortunately my daughter is to young to stay with grandparents for three days so my wife for sure can't go next year with me  ). :p

:excl: So keep Your fingers crossed for our succes. :p

By the way: we still have hope that we can see BloodBound live in our country (maybe Metalmania in Katowice on the 8th March 2008?).

Hi again!

It's better than I could imagine. My wife asked me: why we can't go there together, with our daughter (2 months, 1 week and 3 day old now :D).? Why can't we make little hollidays in Czech with festival as a main attraction ?

Exactly! Why not?!?

So soon we order tickets and advanced planning mode: ON; :D

Thank You for keeping Your fingers crossed.

BTW: The Metalmania bands list is closed now so this event is inaccessible.

It's just the way it is...

Yep... Life is Brutal... I know that there was far to late to do something about Metalmania. So now, we have to look ahead for another event You can consider. Or maybe You'll consider Your own show in Poland ? ;)

Thank You Khemra :)

Surely will be GREAT! Now with Bool we gather a pack of friends who will go there with us (for now there are 7 of us counting with my wife and daughter). So in July I will have hollidays with my family in Czech and when the time comes we'll join the rest of us on Masters of Rock Festival.

But enough of this offtopic about my family and hollidays - I'm sorry

Hello BloodBound, you are the best ever I heard !! But I have a few questions:

1. How is your new album proceeding? Recording now?
2. Are you doing any live shows near Gothenburg soon? Sticky Fingers??

3. What happend with Michael Bormann? No offence Urban :-). Love your voice but no info on why Michael Bormann left ??

Hope to see you Live soon! You were great at Sweden Rock Festival !!

Very good questions, xtc73, especially 1 and 3 :)
I guess Michael Bormann is a kind of 'Jeff Scott Soto-like' guy: singing for as many bands as possible (willingly or not). But with Bloodbound was his best!

Oh, that really sucks. :( What was bad about it? Just badly organized, or...?
Shaye

Not only the organization was absolutely bad.
The behavior of Joey DeMaio this time was waaay over the top.

I've written a bit in my Blog about it, so I just copy and paste it in here:
[snipp...]

I've seen them several times live before, and of course we all know that Joey is a total big-mouth at his speeches. He likes to swear a lot and such. All his "We're the best and everyone else sucks"-attitude. OK, it already got on my nerves before, but this time, he really was way to much over the top.
Calling other band names may be all right during "competition" but calling Whitesnake-fans "c**k-suckers", "motherf**kers", "a**holes" and tell them to "f**k-off" because no one wants them here anyway, was a bit too much.

Why did they put Whitesnake and Def Leppard on the billing if they didn't want them anyway?? A lot of people from the audience (even Manowar-Fans) just turned around and went away.

They've known already that the two bands won't play several days prior to the festival and just wanted to get some more tickets sold with leaving the names on the billing. For a break-even they needed 20.000 tickets sold but they sold only 11-12.000. With a ticket-price of 80,- Euros plus fees, everyone can calculate for himself how much money that is. (I got this info from a very reliable internal source, so I absolutely trust it a 100%)

Dragging a 10year old girl on stage, and every 2nd word was f**k, is totally unacceptable also. He even told the audience, that her mother probably is at the gun-store right now to buy a gun and shoot him. Thank God, that the girl couldn't speak any English, but I'm pretty sure, she understood the word "f**k".

Same with the press-conference. Being very rude to Metal Hammer journalists just because they dared to ask some critical questions about the Whitesnake/Def Leppard matter.
Joey then insulted the mag during the PC and also later in his speech during the show. The folks from Metal Hammer even were thinking about leaving the festival, even though they had a info-tent on the venue.
Well, maybe that's just consequence. The Rock Hard Magazine already refuses to write anything about Manowar, because Mr. Big-Mouth had insulted them badly some time ago.

Next point:
The music was very good, but is Joey really calling that a "show"
There was none. Not even a Manowar-backdrop on the stage or something else. I mean, hey, during a tour they always have a huge stage set-up with them that they have to build up one day and pack it into the trucks the other, then the same again the next day.
And here, where they had a fixed stage prepared for several days in advance they can't even hang a simple back-drop???
Even the other bands had one.
Pyros? Nope.
Only some really small and boring ones for the last two songs.

OK, the music was absolutely great, as usual. No doubt about that.
Well, Karl did some mistakes and played some wrong riffs more than once, but thats OK. I'm sure it's not easy to have the notes of 6 complete albums in your mind.

A lot of fans where really disappointed that there wasn't even 1 encore. The band just disappeared from stage without even a single word.
On both days. Sad Sad

On the second day there was a girl who wanted to propose to her boyfriend. So far so good, but of course not for Mr. DeMaio.
After he called the boy on stage and the girl asked her important question he interrupted before the groom-to-be could answer. He told him to think about it before answering. If he would buy a car he won't buy it on the spot without making a "test-ride". So Joey asked the boy if he had enough "test-rides" with the girl. The poor thing was standing there totally shy and nearly purple because of the embarrassment. He then told the girl to leave for a few minutes and the boy to sit down for the ultimate marriage-test.
Suddenly 4 women (more or less dressed) appeared on stage to do some "Pleasure-Slave" impressions. One girl was whirling her whip over the head of the boy while another girl was shaking her naked breasts in front of his face.
Finally he was redeemed and set free to answer the proposal. He said YES and left with his happy fiancé.

Then, among other things:
The bar-staff had absolutely no clue about what they where doing at all.
The food was quite ok, but it took very long to get something.
Also there was not really much variety.
I've definitely seen much better choices at a lot of other festivals.
The beer-price was on the upper level with 3,5 Euros for 0,4 l, but 3,- Euros for a 0,3 l Soda was extremely expensive.

The merch-prices for the official MagicCircle and Manowar-stuff were absolutely over the top as well. The festival-shirt had cost 25,- Euros on wednesday/thursday, then suddenly raised to 30,- Euros on friday/saturday. ???

A lot of the other bands who played had a crappy sound, but we've had that often before in the past with other bands opening for Manowar.
What are they afraid of? That the other bands will have more fans then they have?
Ah, OK, Holyhell of course had also good sound, but of course they are also signed with Magic Circle and Joey supports them.

Well, the biggest crowd (and the best show by far) over the whole weekend had Alice Cooper!!!

This was by far the worst organized festival I've ever been to. And I've been to a lot of festivals and concerts so far.

Oh, I nearly forgot about the super-dooper-fantastic announcement, that Mr. DeMaio promised everyone on the last festival-day. Prior to the festival he said, everybody should tie his ***censored*** (best piece) to his leg coz it will go directly upright when the news will be announced.
Hmm, well, OK, I'm female but even with thousands of guys around me I've seen no "piece" gone upright during his speech. Only sneering faces.

He announced that next year they will perform their complete new album (that isn't even done jet and we all know how long it takes Manowar to finish new albums). Along with that there will be written a fantasy-novel by German author Wolfgang Holbein (yuck!!!), that will also be transferred into a film-script, filming to start next year at the Magic Circle Festival 2009.
And of course there will be a video game of the book/CD as well.
Who will be the hero in that one? Joey? The whole band?
Hah, I can already imagine the name of the game then: "F**k and Kill" *gg*

It it wasn't for the other fans and visitors I think I would have left earlier also.
But the group I've been with (and I've only known a few of those folks before) was absolutely great and we've had a lot of fun anyway. I've met some friends from other countries again who I haven't seen for a few month and also met a lot of new people.

Edit:
Quote from the official Festival-Homepage:

"Over 35,000 rabid fans braved the cold winds and rain to witness the "Spectacle of Might" known as MANOWAR and their special guests between July 9th-12th."

35.000
Where have these folks hidden all weekend?
It was max 12.000!!!

"Spectacle of Might"???
Yeah, maybe "Mighty Disorganisation"

Ah, well. Al least it was an experience for everyone. For good or worse is up to everybody personally. Now I'm looking forward to the "Summer Night Open Air" next weekend.
[snipp]

OK, that was maybe a bit longer than expected, but gives an overview about what happened there last weekend.
I'm off now to a smaller festival with some underground-metal-bands most people (including me) haven't heard about before. Actually I only know one band in the whole billing, but I'm pretty sure it will be fun.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend too.

I'm not too much into Manowar (though I like Hail to England and Kings Of Metal), so I did not know that Joey is such an a... ahhh, I won't start swearing... The guy seems to be completely crazy!

And what's the sense of letting the other bands just play with a horrible sound? If I'd be there once and NO band (except Manowar of course) has a good sound, I would not come a second time... but if all bands had a good sound and people are enjoying their shows, they'd come next year again, right? If a band is better than Manowar - which isn't? sorry, bad joke - the fans will like them more anyway...

Hopefully I can make it next year to MoR. It will depend on the line-up and also if I have enough money left as I'm planning Sweden Rock next year as well :D

Hmm.....if Gotthards bass player didn't show up for the signing session it might depend on the fact that a certain other bass player *COUGH* was talking his ears off backstage

Hopefully I can make it next year to MoR. It will depend on the line-up

Nice:) Indeed much depends on the line-up.

Hm... where's Vienna?

Oh my god, don't drive me crazy! Seriously, that would be really amazing!!! No doubt, I would be there, come what may...

Ok, now I'll search the web to find out if it may be true...

EDIT: I just noticed an update on the bloodbound-page... IT'S TRUE!!!!!! Hell yeah, that's great!

Now it's official.

I can not make it to Vienna. Too much work, so I can't take the time off.

So I really hope that there will be more shows this year in Germany too, so that I can at least see you guys once in 2009.

Wishing you a great time on tour anyway. :D

Hopefully I'll see Bloodbound on April 12th with Hammerfall. I can't wait!!! Two of my favourite bands on the same night!

Is there any chance to meet the band after the show?

That would be great... maybe this time I'll dare to open my mouth and say something intelligent... instead of just staring out from my head like an idiot. Or if not, then at least you will know it was me... :closedeye

We have very low standards so anything you say will probably seem very intelligent. Even a lowly, "umm, you guys, uh, like rock!" gets a fairly high score on the TRICS* Board.

It was great suprise in Poland as for me. Never heared about you before the Sabaton concert (ouh, friend told me name of band after show, and on ticket there was only "Sabaton + Supports"). So your show was awesome supprise for me. Really was not expecting such great band here, before Sabaton.

Now need only check empik/media markt for your CD, hope there will be any left, becouse propably after concert a plague of fans was there before me.

Hope you will come back to us as soon as possible, and don't forget to take Sabaton with you.

Nice show yesterday in Serbia, although I'm not satisfied with the lenght. But oh well, you were the support. If you were the headline act, maybe we would here Into the dark, Flames of purgatory or The Tempter. Next time, OK? :)

Just wanted to say hello to everyone we've seen at the shows from Poland and on.
It's been a wonderful experience to meet you all! We're most grateful.
The great reception we've been given... above and beyond our expectations and we'd been told to expect the best crowds anywhere!

We've made many new experiences and, most importantly, friends along the way.

Again, thank you and see you all again. Hopefully sooner than later!

Okay, so I guess I just have to say something about last night's show... it was fucking amazing! I mean... do you know that feeling when you want something, and you want it so hard that in the end you think it's just impossible to happen... and then you get a thousand times better thing? :D It's just unbelievable, I'm still under a shock... so thank you Bloodbound, Hammerfall and Sabaton guys for this special evening!

And for Bloodbound... next time I want a headliner show with at least 20 songs. Understood? ... :D

Oh and thank you Pelle, Urban and Fredrik for being so very nice with us! :)

I must confess you were a great surprise for me too. I didn't know anything about Bloodbound before, and I expected something totally different from what I got. Just to cut it short, I loved your performance!

I really hope to see you soon again, hopefully as headliners and hopefully I'll not hurt any of my hands 2 days before the show again :D

Good job! Damn, I really need a new camera  this time last year I was happy with mine, I took some amazing pictures at an Apocalyptica show just after I bought the camera, are my skills degrading now or what? I am less and less happy with the results
