Marillion and Pain of Salvation, though both have been a little disappointing lately... may be going the way of my old favorite, Queensrÿche. *sigh*

I love the song Suite Sister Mary! I've only had the pleasure of seeing them live once, unfortunately...
I've uploaded songs by Pantera, this afternoon. Great band!

I guess the RHCP are alright. There's one song I love: Castles in the Sand. I think it's a Jimi Hendrix-cover, but I'm not sure...

SSM is one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite, by Queensryche. Although I've seen them probably a dozen times now, I'd never heard it live until a couple of years ago, though, and I swear, I got goosebumps. Amazing.
Used to love Pantera... saw them about 6 times. They were the band I'd seen most often until Queensrÿche passed them. :) CFH and VDoP are both great albums.

What do you think of their latest album "Requiembryo" which is the last one in the Black Butterfly chronic? I think they´ve done a good job to combine the old melodies with some new ones. Can´t wait to hear what they elaborate fo rthe next album and I can´t wait to see them life on stage in November :D

*Goes to ASP's MySpace to see if he's coming anywhere near Poison*
He's not coming to Holland:sad:
I must say that I haven't heard all songs on the album, but what I've heard was verrrrrry goooooood :D
Are you going on the 13th of November? I was thinking that maybe, just maybe (if my new boyfriend  wants to come with me) I could go to "Keulen" by train...

Interesting Mix
My first Metal Album had been Iron Maiden's "Seventh son of a seventh son".
I was 14 then. And my last concert had been Blind Guardian in Krefeld 10. Nov 2007

awesome. yea my first album, really, was Maiden's BNW. i think i was 10 at the time. i think they were the ONLY band i listened to, without exageration, for a year. until i came across CenturyMedia's site, back when they had like 2-3 singles you could download for each of their bands...that introduced me to stuff like, oh, TAD MOROSE!, nocturnal rites, so on.

I still love that album, too. *starts singing "can I play with madness"* :D
Well, I was born 1974, so that will probably fit
Haha, and I only bought that album because my mom didn't like the cover. We had a big argument the day before and it was my way of revenge.
And it got me into that kind of music imediately, so I guess I have to thank her for yelling at me the other day :D

Maiden ? ... will not down them. They are good.... but.... the guitars have always been "twiddly." I want to run on stage and show Murray how to play a freaking power chord.
My fave oldschool bands other than Marky Mark....

old Metallica
Queensryche (Promised Land and earlier)
Anything Dio did from "The Last in Line" backwards
Blackfoot
old Yngwie
Newer bands:
Vanden Plas
Tad Morose

Oh come on now Urban. Yngwie is like the modern personification of Elvis. Show some love for the old fat Yngwie. When Ozzy's mind started going really bad (I guess he snorted too many ants,) they started giving his lyrics to him on a teleprompter disguised as a monitor. Reckon they will start putting sheet music up for Yngwie ? Hell, he can't play the same solo NOW that he does on record.

Call me a wuss, but Marillion is my favorite band.
Pain of Salvation and Queensryche round out the top 3. However, it's odd--I haven't liked the last couple of albums by POS or Marillion much, and Queensryche hasn't had a half dozen good songs combined in the past 10 years.
Hmmm... come to think of it, when I look at the favorites I have listed on Facebook and MySpace, most of it is old stuff: Overkill, Sepultura, Conception, Kamelot, Savatage, Kiss, Evergrey, The Tea Party, Balance of Power, Fates Warning, Trail of Murder. Evergrey , Kamelot, and ToM are the only ones that I actually dig recent material from. Egads! I must find new bands to listen to. :P

before i said between Maiden and BG...now ive come to terms with ill never decide.
so both, Iron Maiden and Blind Guardian. to be honest, if i heard BG first, theyd probably be my favorite...but i didnt, so thats how that goes.
Nocturnal Rites is right up there as well.
Tad Morose would be too, if i liked any of their stuff before urban joined...but unfortunately its not for me.
and on that note, i guarentee of Daniel Heiman had not left Lost Horizon and they stuck around, they would be a favorite too. i love every part of their first 2 and only albums...what a shame.

Wishmistress, slava na tebe!
My alltime favourite is Dark Tranquillity - especially old albums - followed by In Flames, Tad Morose, Edguy (old), Amon Amarth (old), Kataklysm, Gorefest and about 50 more from various styles.
It seems that death metal, melodeath and modern, powerful heavy metal is what I am in the most.
But my other love is doom. From Anathema to Morphia to Tristania to Tristitia to Daylight Dies to Rapture to Katatonia to Mourning Beloveth to MDB to Saturnus and many, many more.
Thoughtful music is what I am devoted to.

Therion
Nightwish
Children of Bodom
Ensiferum
Eluveitie
Sonata Arctica

Epica
Amorphis

Sabaton
Bloodbound
Ayreon
Sirenia
It's too much really. I really like all sorts of things, from metal to soundtracks and stuff. Mentioning 10-20 bands for me just is not enough.
