1. Devils Finger- Tad Morose
Not my favorite. Not by a long shot, but it could've been a lot higher up on my list if the rest of the guys would've agreed to my suggested arrangement.
2. Rainbow Demon - Tad Morose
Odd selection there. I'd say it's sort of ok, might even have had potential given some more time and thought.
3. NOSFERATU - BloodBound
It was never exactly my favorite track on that album. Probably never will be either. The chorus turned out better than I anticipated, though.
4. Another Time Around - Tad Morose
Ah, a long time favorite of mine. Whenever we played it live I always wished we could make an improvised prolonged version of the intro but such things never happened...
5. Time Of No Sun - Tad Morose
Probably my favorite track of that album. Oh well, lets go ahead and say it is. It's almost tempting to rerecord it just to see what'll happen to it in the process.
Anyway, my favorites are, at the moment, it's always at the moment with me.. ;)
What I'd Do, (Used to be Under You)
Break That Rule
Servant of the Bones
Take on the World
and
When the Spirit Rules the World
(I know, the first two, that's almost cheating, and also, they're so fresh I can't help but like them a bit more. :))

and they arent ranked.....
What I'd Do, (Used to be Under You) - Urban breed
Unvelcome Quest - Tad morose (Modus Vivendi)
Clearly Insane - Tad morose (Modus Vivendi)
Etereal Soul - Tad morose (matters of the dark)
When Spirits Rules the world - Tad morose (Modus Vivendi)
I have more songs that I like...
but when it comes to albums with TM I like Modus Vivendi the most
even if I like the credits on Undead.....
and yes the first song is a cheating choice.....but I just love it....
and I know for a fact that there are more songs that are just as good as that one according to me...

Funny, you list my two least favorite songs from MV. :)
I guess my favorites are, in no particular order:
Another Time Around
Ethereal Soul
The Last Days
Servant of the Bones
Anubis
Subject to change of course at any time. I love urban's singing on some of the Bloodbound stuff but just can't list any of those songs in my top 5.

Hmmmm, good question.
My 5 favourite songs from urban are;
1. Ethereal Soul (i love the arrangement and vocal patterns here, what a great chorus!, did you enjoy singing this one urban?)
2. Afraid to Die (strange song, but for some reason once again i really loved the vocal arrangements here, they are genius. Such great writing)
3. Cyberdome (well this song is cool to me, but once again i think the singing is very good here, such emotion and simply i think that urbans voice sounds good anywhere, cool chorus)
4. In the shadows (i love the verse singing here, i cant help but chorus along, and the song has a nice steady flow)
5. Sword of Retribution (once again i love the arrangements here, great chorusing and simply a great song)
These songs are not nessesarily my favourite tunes, but they are my favourite songs as far as singing goes, not that i can sing well AT ALL!, but its still fun. You are a great singer urban, and awesome at writing arrangements and harmonies!, a major influence in my singing "attempts"

Ethereal Soul (i love the arrangement and vocal patterns here, what a great chorus!, did you enjoy singing this one urban?)
In the studio? Not really. Mostly because of piss poor planning and thus overly long recording sessions. :) I remember recording the backing vocals at the Frop Farm. That was a lot more fun. Relaxed schedule with time for reflection. Building the arrangement I had in mind, seeing it take shape, or, hearing it do so. :)
2. Afraid to Die (strange song, but for some reason once again i really loved the vocal arrangements here, they are genius. Such great writing)
Thanks!
In fact, There were even more elaborate sections. I had them removed since Christer and Anders didn't like them so much. Would've meant they had to sing even more. :) I know Daniel and Peter wanted them in the mix but I took them out. I have no idea if it was the right call. Daniel and Peter later told me they miss them. Me? I'm not sure what I think. They did add that extra layer of harmonic poly-rythmic complexity that appeals to me. (Might be why I just love 'Open Your Eyes' with Yes.)
3. Cyberdome (well this song is cool to me, but once again i think the singing is very good here, such emotion and simply i think that urbans voice sounds good anywhere, cool chorus)
I remember thinking it absolutely wonderful to finally be able to do this kind of singing on a Tad Morose album. I love doing it live too.
4. In the shadows (i love the verse singing here, i cant help but chorus along, and the song has a nice steady flow)
Possibly my favorite song from 'Matters'. I wrote this song starting with the vocal melody and had everything ready but I had still to come up with a riff.
I asked Daniel but he couldn't come up with anything. While working on other songs we were browsing through older projects and came upon one of Daniel's songs, don't remember which one, but it was recorded as early as during the pre-production for 'Undead'. The second I heard it I knew that was it! Sometimes keeping those old files really do pay off! :)

Thanks.
Contrary to what some might think, it really is appreciated.
Thanks again...

Very interesting... the other 4 of your "top 5" I *didn't* pick probably would be somewhere in my #s 6-10. Except maybe In the Shadows, but it would still be in, oh, say, my Top 12. :D
Anyway, good taste, man! ;)

5 songs... it's not exactly easy to choose. Well, let's try anyway (I'll choose a song per album)
1. Into the Dark (Bloodbound). I admire the way the chorus is sung, so high! I try it now and again in my bathroom but it doesn't sound too good... surprisingly. Great melody
2. Where the sun never shines (Tad Morose). What a great chorus. I've listened to this album (and song) a hundred times!
3. I know your name (Tad Morose). One of my favourites on "Matters of the Dark".
4. A mended rhyme (Tad Morose). Love it (no exceptional comment, I agree)
5. Cyberdome (Tad Morose). Very difficult to choose a song from "Modus Vivendi" as it is my favourite Tad Morose album. So I picked this one up.
Cheers

2. Where the sun never shines (Tad Morose). What a great chorus. I've listened to this album (and song) a hundred times! You're right, it's not that bad a song. :) Amazing, I had completely forgotten about this song. Peter and I used to trade verses on this song live. (Much like we did on 'Matters of the Dark'.)
3. I know your name (Tad Morose). One of my favourites on "Matters of the Dark".
Hey, that's one of those songs I just love to do live.
4. A mended rhyme (Tad Morose). Love it (no exceptional comment, I agree) Probably the most sensibly arranged song on that album.
Very difficult to choose a song from "Modus Vivendi" as it is my favourite Tad Morose album. So I picked this one up. I think you'll find that most people will agree that this is the best album Tad Morose put out. I think so too. Please notice that I said most. :) ...and of course my perception of this is skewed.

Anubis - Tad Morose
No Mercy - Tad Morose
Nosferatu - Bloodbound
Knowing Me, Knowing You - Tad Morose
Cyberdome - Tad Morose
The ABBA cover is cool, the multi-tracked vocals at the intro is a bit strange though.

well...here is my list...
not in any particular order...
Ah, and I haven't listened Modus too much yet...so...its songs are not included..:-)
- But Angels Shine ( A Mended Rhyme is such an underrated album...I think its great! This song in particular.... here is where Urban s voice struck me like a lightning ....marvelous melody , strong voice....so much emotion.... It has a touch of despair on it...)
- Another Time around ( Undead is not my fav album. for me, it lacks something....But this song is amazing. Again, Urban gives an edge for it. His vocal lines are so distinctive that every band with him, may automatically remind me of TM .... wonderful job.)
- In the Shadows ( Ohhh.... I dont know how he came with that melody , but it is one of the most original singing I ve heard in years.... Again, there s so much emotion that you really get in the mood. It seems that Urban doesnt "only" sings, but he truly gets "into" the "character" of the song.
- New Clear Skies ( Furious!! One big problem with Power Metal singers is that, some can do a good clean voice, but the harsh tunes gets a bit.."forced"....and other singers are the other way around.... Urban can do both perfectly! )
- Dont pray for me - ( Versatile! A quite different melody here... It feels great. The chorus sticks in your mind for weeks... I usually catch myself singing it)
As "runners up" I d like to add Circuit Vision...a great song and Another Way ...this last, gods...it just makes me run like hell when Im driving...:-) (but I dont...haha truly)..... But it gives a very 80 s metal feeling when I hear it...
By the way...I have seen the Urban himself writes here...Thats great.... I was looking for info about him since he left Tad....
cant wait for your Solo album Urban!! and by the way...do you still play RPG? Pen and paper ones....
See ya all and best regards

and by the way...do you still play RPG? Pen and paper ones....Not lately, no. I did, however, play the boardgame Supremacy for two days this week. Plenty of nukes were launched but I stopped most of them, (had some difficulty with those launched from Boomers), for a hefty fee, of course. :)
Sadly we had to end the game prematurely.
We all know how real life has a tendency to intrude. :)
