As I'm not updating this place often enough to warrant frequent visits.
At the forum you can at least ask me questions directly, suggest that I join Leatherwolf,
post silly jokes about me, tell me I need more of a blues-vibe to my vocals or announce that I'm your personal saviour or something. Anyway, what I mean is it makes sense to go there instead. Unless, of course, you are looking for lyrics penned by me or something along those lines.
For those of you that missed it. Unless you've visited the forum it's most likely you did, I've recieced the drum tracks from Iceland. I've the dubious pleasure of trying to pick the best takes but I'm not complaining. They're played by Erik Qvick! I always did want to work with him and now I finally get the chance. Too bad I didn't get to be there during the recordings. Well, maybe some other time. On the bass I'm enlisting the former Bloodbound bass player and another local talent that I will not mention by name. At least not yet. Guitars? That'll be me, me, me. me ...and oh, not me at all come to think of it. :) I'll announce that later too. ok?

I guess there are lots of new cells running amok in my system since the last update. Well, it's no big deal but there has been some other changes since too. I recorded an album with Bloodbound, left Tad Morose, bought a guitar and set off to do my very own album. Yes, actually making it a priority. Then there's been all these private parts, oh, that came out ...umm, ehhh, exactly the way I wanted it :) ah, well, private matters, personal life and such that none of you would ever begin to take an interest in anyway, right?
So, here I am sitting in front of my computer doing this instead of recording. What's wrong with me? Seriously, I can't record all the time. I need to do other things as well.If for no other reason than to get inspiration to write even more music to record and take a break from doing other things to get more inspiration to write songs to record to... ... you catch my drift, I'm sure. Anyway, as fun as this is, I'll be doing something else entirely. I'll be socializing for a bit. That ok with you? Oh, and do visit the forum.'
Hey, here I go neglecting to update for way too long again. I've got my reasons but they won't matter to you so I might as well not tell you. I guess you want some more downloads here, right? How about getting something by tomorrow? No? Aww.. I'll have something up by tonight then. This means I'll have to arrange a whole lot of things like ...right now. What's new then? I've written a couple of more songs but I haven't been able to lay down the vocal tracks for them. Why not? I've not been feeling too well. In fact my nose is still sort of running so it'll be another few days before I'll even try.
I would like to mention my friend Henrik Sandberg. He's been working hard on putting together the video for Anubis. He's sort of doing it all by himself. I only got to paint some textures and if we compare our efforts in producing this piece I might as well say that I've done nothing. I got the really easy parts. I'm really looking forward to seeing the whole piece once it's all done.

Things don't go as planned. Even less so when Christmas comes around. I had to work an extra shift so it was impossible to complete the song for Christmas Eve. I put it all together today. Had to drop the fretless bass and I edited out Daniels guitar so this is my version of Betlehems Stjärna, everything you'll hear on the track is performed by me. Kind of fitting since I produced it for this site to begin with. Anyway, I finally posted it. You'll find it if you check out the first menu.
Small piece of news, Stefan Zell and I are thinking about collaborating on some sort of a project. It will be interesting for me. Hope it will be for you too. The best part is that we'll be two singers so we can write some cool vocal parts. We have absolutely no idea as to what might come out of this. I'll keep you posted but it's not something likely to kick off within the week.
...Urban
I think I will be unable to post the song in it's entirety on Monday, simply because that's when I could first arrange to have the guitars added. ...And then Daniel suggested I add some fretless bass as well... Hmm, this is getting worse... When can I get that done? Anyway, It'll have to be here by Christmas eve at the latest. Make it sort of a Christmas Present.
And to compensate for not keeping my word I posted a tiny fraction of the song. Check the first menu and it's under downloads. As it is I am the only person performing and in a way this kind of justifies the fact that I publish it a bit prematurely. No matter what, this way you'll know what my works sound like before anyone else has tampered with them.

Gah, should've had the song done by now. I can only say I'm sorry. It's mostly due to the fact that I've been sleeping somewhat irregularly. No, it's not that I have trouble sleeping, it's just that I've been doing other things. Another reason not to have the song all done is that I wanted to have some guitars added. Unfortunately Daniel has been working way too hard so it just didn't happen, but by tomorrow I will have everything but the guitars nailed down so expect something posted on Monday.
I ordered a set of nine Terry Pratchett books a while ago. It was supposed to be the first nine of the Discworld, unseen library, series. I got eight. Easily taken care of, a call and they said it was on its way too. ...And luckily it wasn't the first book that was missing but on the other hand, considering my fascination with Egyptian mythology/imagery, well, you name it it was rather fun to see that the book missing was Pyramids! Anyway, I promise to finish the piece I said I would before I even open the first book, alright? ...and may you not suffer a Christmas overdose. Oh, and by the way, I produced a Winamp skin for this site. Check it out, you might hate it!!!

What have I been up to lately? I'm working on something special for this site. It's sort of a christmas extra and it's something I've never done before. I never thought I would either. It will be the first track I make with swedish lyrics. The lyrics are written by Viktor Rydberg. I haven't heard or seen an english translation of the piece so I will stick to Swedish. Hope you find it sort of interesting even though it is a christmas song.
Sad as it may seem I have heard no more news about the Swedish tour with Lefay and Nocturnal Rites. This may not be the definite end to it but it certainly isn't a good sign. The computer-animation project is slowly beginning to take shape but it doesn't hurt to produce more than one piece now does it? So get your stuff together and invade the video@urbanbreed.net mailbox with suggestions. If you need to reach me for some other reason please use the contact@urbanbreed.net address.

At the moment we have two further release dates. One of which is still unknown to me. Someone might know, but I sure don't. The other is the US release, which is supposed to happen February 10:th 2004. Both versions are to be infected by vile bonus tracks. Yes, that's how I feel about bonus tracks. If a track is not on the album, don't put it there!
So, that leaves the unknown release date. What can I tell you about it? Hmm, it's to be released by Nippon Crown. Let anyone with half a brain reckon the country of the east, for it is a distant country, ehrmmm, sorry got carried away. It is Japan, of course. Let's see what this release might accomplish for us. It's the first of our CM albums to be released there. Oh, and as a side note I can tell you that the curse is lifted. I actually had a day where every scheduled interview for a French magazine/radio show happened.
...Urban
There, European release date already dead and gone. Hope you got your copy. I still don't have mine but I can't blame anyone. It's there for me to pick it up, I just haven't gotten 'round to it. To this day I still don't get why there is a separate release date for the US. If you can't bear the wait there is always imports, right? Had several interviews not happening tonight. Those in France in particular. What can I say? I am totally out of luck when it comes to France. Maybe they switched time-zone all of a sudden ...or maybe they just hate my guts there. Who knows..? So don't order your album from France, ok. Nah, seriously, you'd better prove me wrong.
Back to the new album. I've taken the opportunity to ask the interviewers about their favorite tracks. One'd think that one of them, at least, would share my opinion, but no. Time for a poll. Someone out there must have the same favorite track as I. So hang in there and I'll put together what's needed. If it turns out well, that is, if you guys share my opinion, heh, I might make some special feature out of it. ...and it's about time I pulled my ass out of the wagon and handed out some samples of my very own material, Am I right, or am I right?

It was all going as planned. I got the headphones, and I did get some work done. One song finished and a new one in the making. I am not exactly in a hurry but I should think it would be nice to keep working on compositions and arrangements for a little while longer. That is in itself not impossible, however, I need to produce a video, and fast. I spoke to CM about it earlier and they said, "No, sorry, there really is no need for that", and here I am in desperate need for a video that doesn't exist. So, how do I tackle this? I've always wanted to make a computer-animated video. Unfortunately I havent gotten around to it. As of now I don't know how to make one. Which programs to use and whathaveyou...
So I'm thinking, and not just maybe, it's time to call in the National Garde! Yeah, that could be YOU! ...or a friend of yours, or anyone you can think of with time to spare and a knack for the trade. Pick any song from the new album and have a go at it will ya'? I can't begin to tell you how much this would mean to us. While I'm still hoping for you to come to the rescue I'll be putting some live footage together as a last resort. If there's anything you need from me, (no sexual favors, alright!?), in order to make a spectacular video let me know. and here's where you should send an e-mail if you think you can help out. video@urbanbreed.net

Just yet. It won´t be long now, though. ...and the same goes for my headphones, they´ll be here sometime tomorrow. Great!!! I am dying to do some work other than giving interviews, not that I mind giving them, it´s just that making music is much more fun as compared to talking about it. It´s not entirely pointless though. Communication, reaching out to our fellow beings, (That is friends and relatives to all you anti-social freaks out there), is a very important part of our lives, and why not talk about something that matters, such as music in it's many forms?
Yeah, why not? And try some reading too. Something about our new album perhaps? One good reason might be that you´ve heard it already and wouldn´t want to risk tarnishing it with someone elses impure ideas, right? Anyway, I was told that reviews for 'Modus Vivendi' are beginning to appear
on various sites so I had a look at one of them, (so far). Having read that one I decided that You should too. It might make you want to buy the album. [I´m not smiling here. This is a grin]. The one I read was posted at The Temple of Metal but I guess there are, or at least will be, plenty more.

I have yet to pick up the thread on the solo-material. At the moment I´m just waiting for a new set of headphones to be delivered. It´s no use adding vocals using a pair of monitors. I don´t quite feel like doing the phase-shift-trick. It´s not 100% reliable. It´s hard to maintain the same position while singing, and even worse to either keep it or re-assume it for the playback. So instead I wait...
Just the other day, (this last Friday if you must know), I had some ideas for another two songs. I have the concepts, the choruses and the basic harmonies for the verses. I believe I will have to start recording backing tracks for them so I can add vocals as soon as I get those headphones. The only problem is, ...I don´t have a guitar. Need one like, right now. So, send me one, Alright? :-)
Now, there are a couple of songs that already have vocals, that only need touching up a bit. As soon as I deem them ready I´ll pick at least one to publish here. ...I think. It kind of depends... As of now I´m thinking about using a system much like the one Nullsoft used with winamp. You know, the nag free fully funktional pay for life thing. I loved their concept so I paid. Now it´s freeware. I doubt I can do that but I guess you guys wouldn´t want each and every song interrupted by commercials. Correct me if I´m wrong.
...Urban
No, not yet anyway. There will be, believe me. In the mean time, why don´t you check out Tad Morose's new album 'Modus Vivendi'... if you enjoyed 'Undead' and 'Matters...' you might like this one too. Even if you didn´t you might still like it. Who knows? Century Media has put up one song for download. We played that one, Anubis ...and here it is, at Sweden Rock Festival so if you were there you´ve heard it already. Anyway, I haven´t prepared any songs for you just yet. There are some good ones in the making though...
So, winter's here... Snow everywhere and we´re still working on the house. Not good... We'll just do some boarding up right after doing a bit of this and that...and wait for springtime...
That way I´ll have time for writing, recording and maintaining this site. I intend to update at least once a week. Even while still doing some stuff on the house. After a while I might even decide on a specific day. I think I need to make it routine in order for it to work. Anyway, I´ll be personally responsible for this so scream if I neglect my duties.
